How to show off your passion to boost your visibility in one photo shoot ?

(especially if you have already tried several times with your mobile phone by filming/photographing)

About me

Starting a new journey

I have been working as a software developer for 8 years, but I do not find it as exciting as it used to be. It's never easy to change jobs, but if it's not a job that makes you happy, there's probably something better somewhere else. I started photography as a hobby and after investing more and more time into it, it became a passion. The passion to capture the moment with my camera. After investing in business/photography trainings, it is now time to take on a new challenge.

Latin dance Photographer

I am specialized in latin dance photography because I am a dancer myself. Combining my passion for bachata and photography is a dream come true. I love capturing those unique moments when two dancers enjoy a dance.

Did you have a bad picture of yourself at an event ?

You had your eyes closed, your partner's arm was on your face, you were out of focus, not smiling, ... A picture of someone dancing should reflect what he/she is experiencing with the music, the partner and themselves. As a dancer, I am more able to anticipate movements and wait for the right moment to capture how much you are enjoying this dance.

What did you try to promote your events or dance group ?

Take pictures with your phone

As you may know, the resolution of a picture on a phone is not comparable to that of a camera, not even the latest iPhone! You will not be able to print it out to make nice flyers/posters.
Sometimes you worry more about taking a photo to capture a moment during a party than enjoying it.
Capturing the right moment is not easy even with a phone. The zoom on a phone is not that good and the flash is clearly not powerful enough.

Take screenshots of videos

This is the only way to capture the right moment. I am almost certain that this screenshot will be blurry and with poor resolution.
It will cost you a lot of time to watch your video again and again to catch the right moment and finally publish it.

Only post videos on your social medias

As you may know, watching a video (even if it is only for a few seconds) requires time and attention from the reader. You can easily check this by comparing the number of views and likes for one of your videos. Views > Likes
Most of the time, you will not be able to remember the content of the video. Nowadays, it is even more difficult to stay focused on something.
Your social media will be full of videos and for a potential client, it can be discouraged to watch a video to figure out what you are trying to share through your social media. Your social media have to be clear enough to promote what you really want to achieve.
